The Journey to a New and More Powerful You
At Silver Dragons, we believe that confidence and preparedness don’t come with age—they come with practice. Growing up in and around Chicago, I learned early that life doesn’t always play fair. Whether it was a schoolyard scuffle or a rough patch in adulthood, I found that the most valuable lesson was trusting your gut: if a situation feels off, get out. No need for a fight if you can avoid it, and the good people around you will respect that. But when avoidance isn’t an option, knowing how to defend yourself—whether with your fists or your brain—makes all the difference.
While I didn’t have much formal training as a kid, my journey took me through the Marine Corps, various martial arts (from Taekwondo to Krav Maga), and eventually back to the basics of close-quarters combat. Through it all, one thing became crystal clear: Keep it simple. Master the fundamentals, and you’ll be ready for anything life throws at you. At Silver Dragons, we offer a no-nonsense approach to self-defense and fitness, providing simple yet powerful techniques to help people of all ages feel strong, flexible, and capable—whether they’re facing a confrontation or just a long day of life.
